The Pandits (Hindu Priest) pay homage to the River Ganga by doing the Ganga Aarti on the Ghats of Dasaswamedh. It is an hour long and flowers filled with leaf boats with candles lit upon them are released in the water.
It’s the holy place where people go for spirituality and purity of the soul. On these ghats, people bathe to clean themselves from the bad deeds that they’ve done unintentionally and also cremate their dead loved one’s.
There are so many temples present here but the most famous temple here is the “Kashi Vishwanath Temple” which is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Cremation is done openly here and it is believed that people who die here will not be reincarnated. The pyre here burns night and day. Manikarnika ghat is very famous as a cremation ghat.
Markets of Varanasi are famous for Banarasi Sarees, Temples, Ayurvedic medicines and Yoga. The tight streets offer a chance to discover new places and also leads to self-discovery.
As it is a holy place, many people, even foreigners, visit the place leading to overcrowding and urbanization is also becoming a threat to the holy place.
