Imli chutney is popular for its tangy flavor and makes an excellent accompaniment to any Indian cuisine. Want to try making it at home? Here's an easy meal that takes only minutes to prepare!

Ingredients

1 cup soaking imli, 2-3 teaspoons jaggery powder, 1 teaspoon cumin powder, 1 teaspoon red chili powder, 1 teaspoon anardana, 2 tablespoons water, and a pinch of black salt.

Soak The Tamarind

Begin by soaking the tamarind in warm water for around 20-30 minutes. This softens the tamarind and makes it easier to extract the pulp.

Make Tamarind Pulp.

Once softened, squeeze the tamarind to get the thick, flavorful pulp. Strain to remove the seeds and fibers.

Add Jaggery And Spices

In a pan, combine the pulp, jaggery, cumin, anardana, red chili powder, and black salt. Add water and simmer until the jaggery dissolves.

Simmer And Store

Allow the chutney to simmer over low heat for a few minutes. Once cooled, transfer to an airtight container and keep in a cool, dark location.

Serve And Enjoy

The spicy imli chutney is ready! Serve it alongside samosas, chaats, or Pakodas provide the ideal blast of flavour. You'll really enjoy it. See the full recipe for imli chutney.
