How To Make Basic Sooji Kesar Halwa At Home

Ingredients

Take 1 cup sooji, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup ghee, 2 tbsp flaxseed, 2 cups water or milk, a pinch of saffron strands, 1/4 tsp cardamom powder, handful of chopped nuts and raisins.

Step 1

To enhance the color and aroma of saffron, soak the strands in heated milk or water and set them aside.

Step 2

Heat ghee in a pan over medium heat, add sooji, and roast for 5-7 minutes.

Step 3

Add extra ghee to the skillet and stir in dried fruits and nuts. Transfer to a plate.

Step 4

Add more ghee, roasted sooji, and warm milk to the pan, stirring while continuing to cook.

Step 5

In a separate bowl, mix jaggery and water to create a simple syrup.

Step 6

Create a syrup by pouring it over sooji, cooking until combined, then add nuts and saffron milk. Serve warm with various nuts.
