Silk saree are expensive and demand a lot of care and attention. It can be ruined by small food or drink stains, but here are some tips to maintain the look of the saree
Don’t use hot water, hot iron or a drying machine. Always use warm water on the silk.
If the label says to dry clean your silk saree then don’t take the risk to wash it at home.
Don’t use harsh soap or bleach, it can damage the silk saree.
Wash a small patch of the saree and see if the color runs or not and if it does dry clean is the best option.
Fill the tube with lukewarm water and some drops of gentle detergent good for silk and soak the wear for 5 minutes in it.
Drain the water and add plain cold water with half cup of vinegar which will help remove soap from the saree.
Then rinse the saree three times in plain cold water and then take it out.
After you are done lay the saree on a dry towel and roll removing water and then hand it to dry.
