2 medium potatoes grated (3 cups), A bunch of fresh coriander leaves chopped,1 tsp jeera, 2 green chillies chopped,1 generous pinch asafoetida / hing, 1/2 tsp red chilli powder, 1 to 2 tbsp besan / gram flour , Salt to taste, Oil for shallow frying.
Make sure to grate the potatoes and squeeze out all the extra moisture.
Now take the grated potato and add all the spices except for the oil.
Mix them well and make sure all the ingredients are there in the dough.
Take some oil on the hand and give them shape s flat patty press them with hands to flatten it. Do not apply too much force.
Frying the potato patty in the pan along with oil till it gets crispy from the outside.
serve in a bowl , place the tikki, add some onions, coriander, curd, mint chutney and sweet chutney. Serve it hot.
