A remote village in Maharashtra, has no doors installed in their houses due to faith in Lord Shani, the god of Saturn, who is considered as guarding the village.
Lord Shani blessed the villagers by arriving at the village in the form of a black slab idol on the shores of the Panasnala River, 300 years ago.
From then on, Lord Shani is protecting the village, as believed by the villagers.
That is why they decided to discard all the doors and locks in the houses, as they didn’t need them anymore because of the guardian blessing of Lord Shani.
This tradition has become generational and is being followed till now, even in police stations and surprisingly no complaints have been registered from the opening of the police station in 2015
Even the United Commercial Bank - UCO Bank has opened India’s first lockless branch, and has a barely visible lock, respecting the beliefs of the villagers.
Around 40000 visitors pour in each day at the site to get the blessings of Lord Shani and the shrine has developed into a large temple site now
