Morarji Ranchhodji Desai was born on february 29, 1896 and was an independent Indian activist and politician and first non-congress Prime Minister.
Desai had served as the Prime Minister of India between 1977-79 from the Janata Party along with that he was Chief Minister of Bombay State, Home Minister, Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of India.
Morarji Desai held the office of Prime Minister at the age of 81 which is the oldest in the history of Indian politics.
Desai became the first non-congress Prime Minister of India defeating Indira Gandhi after emergency controversy and the last second to be born in the nineteenth century.
Though the current finance minister has presented seven consecutive budgets but is still behind in presenting the most numbers of the budget.
