Heaven's Gate (1980)

Loosely based on the Johnson County War. The story revolves around a dispute between land barons and European immigrants of modest means in Wyoming in the 1890s.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969)

Based loosely on fact, the film tells the story of Wild West outlaws Robert LeRoy, known as Butch Cassidy, and his partner Harry, the "Sundance Kid", who is on the run from a crack US posse after a string of train robberies.
