Humayun’s Tomb, Delhi

Commissioned by Hamida Banu Begum, the wife of Emperor Humayun, also known as Hajji Begum, to entomb her dead husband in 1569.

Rani ki Vav, Gujarat

Constructed by Queen Udayamati in 1064, in the memory of her husband, King Bhima. Rani ki Vav is a stepwell known for its intricate carvings.
