Each team consists of 12 players, but only 7 can play on the field at a time.
A match is divided into two halves, each lasting 20 minutes, with a 5-minute halftime break.
The raider must chant "kabaddi" continuously while attempting to tag opponents and must return to their half without inhaling.
Points are scored by tagging opponents or successfully defending against a raider; one point is awarded for each player tagged.
Players are out if they step outside the boundary lines or into the lobby areas before making contact with the raider.
Tagged players can return to the game if their team scores points during subsequent raids.
The team with the most points at the end of the match wins; if tied, a mini-match or sudden-death raid may determine the winner.
