Man thrashed in UP for allegedly insulting gods and goddesses, made to chant Jai Mata Di

A man was thrashed in Purkazi in Muzaffarnagar by a group of people for allegedly insulting gods and goddesses. The victim Vipin Kumar was later admitted to a hospital.

MUZAFFARNAGAR: A man was thrashed in Purkazi in Muzaffarnagar by a group of people for allegedly insulting gods and goddesses. The victim Vipin Kumar was later admitted to a hospital. 

As per reports, he was also made to chant 'Jai Mata di'.

Three men were reportedly seen in a video beating the victim, who is a Dalit. The men in the video asked the victim to chant "Jai Mata Di" while asking him: "We do not criticise your Ambedkar, do we? Why did you do it to ours?"

The incident took place on January 13 in Purkazi police station. Police have registered a case in connection with the attack. 

Police said that they have spoken to the victim and his family members and the accused men have been identified as three-four Gujjar residents who live in the same area.
