New Delhi: Along the lines of Delhi University, colleges and universities in Uttar Pradesh are now to include the concept of Goods and Services Tax (GST) in the curriculum of the commerce and management courses. The decission was taken at a conference chaired by the vice chancellor in Lucknow on Thursady.

GST, believed to be the country's biggest tax reform since independence, had replaced all other existing indirect taxes in order to establish a common market from July 1.

The inclusion is aimed to enlighten the aspiring students with the newly introduced tax reform. The 'one nation one tax' concept will be incorporated into the courses from the upcoming academic session.

Vice chancellors of universities in the state will take a call on how they will include GST in the syllabus, deputy chief minister Dinesh Sharma said while briefing the media about the conference, reported the Hindustan Times.
