New Delhi: One of the most controversial daily soaps on Indian television at present, 'Pehredaar Piya Ki' is back in news. After receiving severe criticism over objectionable content, it has now been reported that the makers are planning to take the big leap.

However, there are counter reports too suggesting that the leap was pre-planned and has not been implemented post backlash from the audience. According to Pinkvilla.com, the casting process to find a male actor to play the grown-up Prince Ratan Singh is in place.

The report quotes a source as confirming, “The 12-year leap will take place as per the schedule in October. After 32 episodes, a leap was pre-planned right from the beginning. There is no such thing that the story was changed to put the criticism to rest."

'Pehredaar Piya Ki' received massive criticism and an online petition was launched against the show for displaying objectionable content where a 9-year old boy getting married to an 18-year-old girl forms the basic plot.

After the online petition to ban the show reached the ministry, the time slot was changed from primetime 8 pm to late night 10 pm.
