Pic courtesy: IANS Mumbai: Sunil Grover put all speculations about joining ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ again to rest by explaining his stance through a tweet a couple of days back! And now, it looks likely that his association with the channel airing the show may grow larger in scale!
According to a report in dnaindia.com, the channel may not hire Kapil Sharma as their talent because the ratings of the show have dipped lower than what was expected. As per the report, the channel was reportedly planning to sign Sharma for a whopping Rs 107 crore deal for an entire year but this may not happen now!
“They are terribly disappointed with how much bad press the entire Kapil Sharma episode has brought to the channel and the show. The ratings have dipped way more than what they thought it would and they are mostly not signing Kapil anymore. In fact, they might pull plugs on The Kapil Sharma Show once and for all,” dnaindia.com quoted a source as saying.
Interestingly, another source has revealed that the channel may now invest in a new show and have Sunil on board because they hold the rights to extremely popular characters – Dr Mashoor Gulati and Rinku Bhabhi.
The source also claimed that the ‘channel is tired of Kapil's tantrums' and may take action against him!
Nonetheless, no official statement has been issued regarding the latest developments.
