New Delhi: After delivering a mind-boggling performance as Maya in 'Beyhadh', popular television actress Jennifer Winget is back on television with 'Bepannaah' along with actors Harshad Chopra, Sehban Azim and Namita Dubey. The show premiered on March 19, 2018, on Colors channel.

'Bepannaah' is like a breath of fresh air in a saas-bahu infected television industry like ours. It is not the stereotypical supernatural thrillers and over-the-top dramas that we find on television these days. This Jennifer-Harshad starrer promises a different take on infidelity.

The story is filled with mystery and romance as you get to see the oh-so-gorgeous Jennifer Winget donning beautiful traditional attires. Set in the picturesque backdrop of Mussoorie, 'Bepannaah' portrays the tale of two couples whose lives are intertwined and how fate plays its part in uniting them.

On one hand, we have Zoya (Jennifer Winget), who is hopelessly romantic and her faith in her partner leaves no room for doubt or suspicion. Away from the hustle bustle of the city, she prefers to soak in the serenity of the hills with her husband Yash (Sehban Azim), of five years. However, Yash is not as romantically involved in their relationship as Zoya is. Every time he seems to be hiding something from Zoya.

On the other hand, Aditya (Harshad Chopra) who is a pilot by profession, is romantic but a forgetful husband, who forgets his wife Pooja's (Namita Dubey) birthday but she doesn't complain as she is used to it. He is shown to be a jovial and fun-loving person. They live in Mumbai. Although all the four characters are starkly different from each other, it is Aditya and Zoya's faith in the relationship that unites them.

Both Zoya and Aditya's partners are cheating on them and the makers have very subtly dropped that hint. It is shown through a ring that Zoya accidentally finds in Yash's cupboard, which doesn't fit her, and a secret diary that Pooja tries to hide from Aditya. It is interesting to see how destiny plays its part when Zoya and Aditya meet at a store and select the same gramophone for their respective spouses.

In no time, tragedy strikes Aditya and Zoya as both their partners die in a car crash. When they reach the accident spot, they find Yash and Pooja's hands are held together as they lie dead which angers Aditya and leaves Zoya clueless. This scene leaves a lot of questions unanswered and keeps the audience waiting for more.

Also, the fathers play a key role in the story as at the beginning of the show, it is shown that both Aditya and Zoya have strained relationships with their fathers. While not much has been revealed about Aditya's cold attitude towards his father, Zoya's father had not forgiven her for marrying a Hindu boy even after five years.

From the storyline to the characters, everything works in the favour of the show. The dialogues are written extremely well and the location where the show has been shot just adds to the beauty of the otherwise brilliant show.

With shows like 'Bepannaah', the Indian audience can heave a sigh of relief and be hopeful about the evolution of Indian TV shows.
