Newly launched Apple iPhone SE 2022 or iPhone 13: Which smartphone should you buy?

New Delhi: Apple iPhone SE 2022 was launched late night yesterday (March 8) at a virtual event that was widely viewed. The most affordable smartphone from Apple is launched with similar looks to its predecessor (iPhone SE 2020) but comes packed with features comparable to iPhone 13. 

So, if you are planning to upgrade to an Apple smartphone, making a choice between Apple iPhone SE 2022 and iPhone 13 is going to be a tough call to make. If you’re also puzzled by the conundrum, comparing the specs, features and price of iPhone SE 2022 and iPhone 13 might help. 

iPhone SE 2022 Versus iPhone 13: Specs 

iPhone SE 2022 comes with a small display size of 4.7 inches with 1334 x 750 resolution, coupled with puffy bezels. On the other hand, the iPhone 13 packs a 6.06-inch display with2532 x 1170 resolution. Moreover, in terms of storage, the base variant of the iPhone 13 and iPhone SE 2022 come with 128GB and 64GB of storage, respectively. 

iPhone SE 2022 comes with IP67 water and dust protection while the iPhone 13 smartphone comes with an IP68 rating. However, when it comes to performance, both smartphones are powered by the same A15 Bionic chip, the 64-bit ARM-based system on a chip, which is designed by the tech giant.

iPhone 13 offers Face ID and gesture controls, which are missing from iPhone SE that still use the Touch ID and home button. Also, the camera is iPhone 13 comes with better hardware – a dual-lens module. 

Moreover, iPhone 13 also offers video features such as cinematic Mode and Dolby Vision HDR up to 4K at 60 fps. Both the features are not available with the iPhone SE 2022.

Which smartphone should you buy? 

By now, one must have understood the major differences between the two smartphones. So, if you want to buy a powerful smartphone at budget-friendly prices, you can settle for the all-new iPhone SE 2022, which, of course, has a smaller display. However, if you prefer a spec-heavy smartphone packed with tons of features and don't want to compromise on screen size, going for iPhone 13 could be a wise choice.
