New Delhi: Nothing, a consumer technology start-up based in London, has finally launched its first smartphone on July 12. The phone (1) is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ chipset and a 4,500mAh battery that supports 33W wired charging, 15W wireless charging, and 5W reverse wireless charging. The phone (1) also has up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The smartphone is presently available for pre-order in India through e-commerce portal Flipkart, which is the country's exclusive channel partner for the Nothing phone (1). The phone (1) has two cameras on the back. This combines a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor with OIS and EIS, as well as a 50MP Samsung JN1 ultrawide sensor. Pei displays unprocessed camera samples directly from the phone (1).

When capturing video, a red LED on the back of the phone illuminates to indicate that recording is active. The phone can record up to 4K video (1), according to Pei, who also revealed that the launch event is being recorded on the Nothing phone (1).

Despite multiple leaks, Pei and Nothing have yet to release a new pair of headphones. Leaks earlier indicated that the 'Nothing ear (1) stick' option would be available today. Perhaps we'll see a silent launch for the same later on.

After numerous leaks, we now have definitive confirmation that the Nothing phone (1) will be available in black. Unlike the Nothing ear (1), it appears that both the white and black variants will be available for purchase simultaneously.

The Nothing phone (1) has bezels that are the same size on all four sides, including the typically bulkier chin. Pei claims that this is feasible thanks to the phone's flexible OLED panel (1), a technology found only in high-end flagship phones.

The Nothing phone (1) is mostly built of recycled materials, but Pei points out that the metal frame is layered between Gorilla Glass 5 layers, which means you won't be able to touch plastic when holding the phone (1)

The phone (1) also has near to stock Android, but with little changes such as a specific quick setting toggle for the Nothing ear (1), which Pei says will be available on other brands' handsets as well. Tesla is one of these brands, with the phone (1) allowing you to operate certain components of your Tesla vehicle remotely.

The launch event has begun, and Carl Pei has arrived holding the phone (1). The event opens with Pei demonstrating the Glyph Interface and its capabilities, the phone's most distinguishing feature.

The launch event for the Nothing phone (1) has began with what appears to be an audio issue. We don't know if this was done on purpose or if it was a true technical issue with the brand. The launch event should start soon.

The launch ceremony for the Nothing phone (1) will begin in 30 minutes. The launch event will begin at 8:30pm IST and will last until 9pm. The brand could release the Nothing phone (1), as well as its rumoured accessories and the new Nothing ear (1) stick. Stay tuned for additional information.

The Nothing phone (1) will be available in India through the e-commerce platform Flipkart, and users who have pre-ordered it will be able to purchase it beginning tonight. Flipkart also stated via a microsite that customers who purchase the Nothing phone (1) with an HDFC Bank credit card or EMI scheme will receive a Rs 2,000 discount.

The Nothing phone (1) will first be available only to users who used an invite code to pre-order the phone, but it will soon be available to all users. According to a fresh leak, this date might be July 21 for regions across Europe and Asia, including India.
