New Delhi: World number one Novak Djokovic showed his wild side on Saturday after losing to Roberto Bautista Agut in the first semi-final of the Shanghai Masters.

The defending champion, after losing the first set 4-6, repeatedly smashed his racquet to the ground. But it was only the beginning of his frustration.

After losing a tight second set rally in the fifth game, the 12-time Grand Slam champion tore his shirt to the shock of packed crowd.

The meltdown may well linked to his reported fall-out with long coach Boris Becker. After progressing to the quarter-finals, the Serbian dropped a hint that he may split with coach Becker.

The German legend Djokovic's coaching team at the start of 2014, helping him win six of his 12 Grand Slam titles and put together one of the all-time great seasons last year.

But there was no semblance of that winning team today, when he could win only 49% percent of the total points played against the outsider from Spain.

Speculation about their partnership has grown since the Serb suffered a crisis of motivation and a series of injuries since completing a career Grand Slam at the French Open.

Djokovic lost in Wimbledon's third round and in round one at the Olympics before reaching the US Open final, while also enduring wrist and elbow problems and admitting "private issues".

Sunday's final will be played between Bautista Agut and world number two Andy Murray, who made short work of Frenchman Gilles Simon 6-4, 6-3 in other semi-final.
