What A Shame: Salman Khan, IOA’s Goodwill Ambassador for Rio 2016, doesn't know Dipa Karmakar's correct name

New Delhi: Bollywood hearthrob Salman Khan, who is also India's goodwill ambassador for Rio Olympics 2016, has once again landed himself in trouble.

The actor witnessed an embarrassing moment when the journalists asked him about Dipa Karmakar's brilliant show in ongoing Olympics.

Dipa became the first Indian to reach the final of apparatus in the artistic Gymnastics at Rio Olympics.

When asked about her performance at trailer launch of upcoming Bollywood flick Freaky Ali, he said, "I thought...was it Deepika? I thought she was going to win gold but she came eighth, no?”

The actor didn't realise his mistake unless one of the reporters pointed out. Even after that, Salman said, "Oh yes, Deepti."

Dipa has become the first Indian to enter the gymnastics finals at the Olympic Games.

The 22-year-old from Tripura qualified for the final round in the Individual vault final of artistic gymnastics after finishing eighth on the standings on Sunday.
