Following a nerve-wrecking penalty shootout victory over Italy, Germany face have a catastrophic situation to take care of ahead of the semi-final clash with hosts France.

Star forward Mario Gomez has been ruled out of the rest of the Euro 2016 with a hamstring injury, suffered during the quarter-finals victory over the Italians. Gomez, who played a crucial role in Germany's only goal in the match, was substituted at 72 minute with Julian Draxler.

Further scans on the Besiktas forward have revealed a hamstring tear which means that he can no longer take part in the final stages of the tournament.

Not just Gomez, Germany can also miss the midfield duo of Bastian Schweinsteiger and Sami Khedira, both of whom suffered slight injuries during the victory over Antonio Conte's men.
