New Delhi: Hosts France bounced back in the Euro 2016 against Northern Ireland to register a 2-1 win, thus sealing their place for quarter-finals.

After a bad first half, where they were trailing 0-1, Didier Deschamps' men came reenergised in the second half where they scored two goals.

In the second match on Sunday, Germany, who had failed to meet the expectations so far in the tournament, rose to the occasion as they crushed Slovakia 3-0.

Slovakia coach Jan Kozak lamented the performance of his side as they were outclassed by Germany at Euro 2016 on Sunday, losing 3-0 to exit at the last-16 stage.

Kozak had made four changes to his team following the goalless draw with England last Monday that saw them qualify for the knockout phase but his side rarely threatened against the world champions and star man Marek Hamsik had little impact.

"I think several of our players didn`t play to their best and when you have two or three players who are not really focused on the game and don`t follow your instructions it`s difficult to get anything from the game," he said before admitting that Slovakia had lost to a superior outfit in Lille.

And in the final match of the day, Belgium Atletico midfielder Yannick Carrasco scored the final goal in injury time, helping Belgium beat Hungary 4-0 to reach Euro 2016 quarterfinals.

Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld`s header broke the deadlock for Belgium in the 10th minute from De Bruyne`s free kick during the match on Sunday, and substitute Michy Batshuayi scored the second in the 79th minute from captain Hazard`s pass, who scored his own goal just one minute later, Xinhua news agency reported.

Carrasco, 23, added the final goal in injury time.

Belgium will face Wales in Lille next Friday for a place in the semi-finals.
