Will Manchester United FC bring in Jose Mourinho after neighbours City get Pep Guardiola?

New Delhi: Manchester United FC have a crucial decision to make as the season progresses with the consistent scrutiny on present manager Louis van Gaal.

United have struggled to find a feet in the Premier League and lie fifth in the table. Already being out in the Champions League and the League Cup, Louis van Gaal knows he must finish in top four of the EPL alongside winning a trophy and that chance lies with FA Cup.

The other option is winning the Europa League. Anything short of this could see the Dutchman being sacked sooner or later.

In contrast neighbours Manchester City are flying high as they are alive in all four competitions and can win a trophy (League Cup) by this month already at Wembley.

On January 31, the noisy neighbours announced that former Barcelona and current Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola will take over the reigns from next season sending a big warning to all their rivals to what can come in footballing standards.

Pep's pedigree and achievements at Barca and Bayern will no doubt attract a fresh style of play at City and also it can bring in some top entities of football to the club next season. Outgoing manager Manuel Pellegrini has a chance to go out on a high and that too trumps United in the current scenario.

After Jose Mourinho's sack from Chelsea, despite winning the title last season, the Portuguese is likely the name being discussed all around as the man to take over at Old Trafford. Like Guardiola, Mourinho is a seasoned manager and has stamped his authority everywhere he has been in his career. He is also more experienced out of the two.

Jose's experience in the Premier League is immense given he has won three EPL titles with Chelsea over two spells as a manager.

Guardiola's coming to City in the summer of 2016 has already created a big buzz and if Jose comes to United then that would show a statement of purpose. The two big magicians had the chance to battle against each other earlier in La Liga with Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively, and now with City and United it will be a hot prospect.

Mourinho will be eager to manage in the EPL and United look like a perfect option for him to show his authority. The next few months will be pretty interesting and whether Jose comes in here will be something big and will spice up headlines just like Pep coming to City.

We all want a Pep vs Jose rivalry ain't we? After the El Classico, will the Manchester derby see the duo pitted against each other? Only time will tell!
