U-19 World Cup: Rishabh Pant's record fifty guides India to 7-wicket win over Nepal

Mirpur: Indian U-19 cricket team continued their winning streak in the ongoing U-19 Cricket World Cup as they thrashed Nepal by seven wickets in their third match of the tournament.

Indian skipper Ishan Kishan's decision to field first was backed by the bowlers, who restricted Nepal to just 169 runs in 48 overs.

Opener Sandeep Sunar (37) was Nepal's highest scorer as Aarif Sheikh (26) and Rajbir Singh (35) too chipped in with decent knocks. Avesh Khan was the pick of the Indian bowlers with three wickets, while Mayank Dagar and Washington Sundar shared two wickets apiece.

In reply, Indian opener Rishabh Pant and skipper Kishan (52) made a mockery of the paltry total as they stitched a 124-run stand for the first wicket in just 9.1 overs. The partnership was finally broken when Prem Tamang bowled Pant in the tenth over of the innings for 78.

After losing two more wickets, India chased down the total in 12.1 overs, which was a very comfortable chase.

It is India's third win in a row and coach Rahul Dravid would be very happy with the way his boys have performed so far in the series.
