John Wright hails 'passionate' Virat Kohli, tips India to win 2016 T20 World Cup

New Delhi: Former India coach John Wright has hailed Virat Kohli as a "passionate and aggressive" leader, while also giving India the favorite tag to win next year's ICC Twenty20 World Cup at home.

Talking to The Times of India, the 61-year-old confessed that he had always like Kolhi's approach to the game.

"I've always liked Virat's approach to the game. He's passionate and aggressive. I think you pick your best eleven and then pick your captain, he's always going to be in your best eleven. He's got huge shoes to fill but he's obviously up for the job. Captaincy is a great opportunity, but it's a tough job," he said.

After taking over from Mahendra Singh Dhoni as the skipper of Indian Test team, Kohli has lead to two successive series wins -- in Sri Lanka and against South Africa at home -- both breaking some records.

Talking about India's chances in the T20 World Cup, the New Zealander said the Indian team under MS Dhoni has a big advantage of playing at home.

"India, obviously as they're going to be playing at home. It's probably too early to tell. Playing here is a big advantage. I suppose the big trick will be selecting the combination," he opined.

The sixth ICC World Twenty20 tournament is scheduled to be held in India from 8 March to 3 April. The final will be played on April 3, at Kolkata's Eden Gardens.
