IPL 2016: Sunil Gavaskar thinks de Villiers is 'AB-CDE' - Find out why!

New Delhi: Cricket fraternity was once again full of massive praise for South African batsman AB de Villiers as he single-handedly took Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) into the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016 with a stupendous knock.

Some call him the Superman, some call him Mr 360, but former Indian skipper Sunil Gavaskar gave a new nickname to the right-hander, when he referred to him as 'ABCDE' after RCB's stunning win over Gujarat Lions.

During a post-match show with Sony Six, Gavaskar said, "For me, he is not just AB. He is ABCDE. As AB Can Do Everything."

Chasing 159 for a win, RCB were wobbling at 29 for five wickets at one stage, with Dhawal Kulkarni grabbing four of them. But De Villiers weathered the storm as he smashed 79 not out off 47 balls to script a sensational comeback and take the team home in 18.2 overs.

Reacting to his match-winning performance, AB said he was glad to help the team reach the final and was hopeful of winning it.

"Lot of people were saying we were under performing but moments like this makes things worthwhile. We had a great team spirit for some years now, and have played some good cricket. But never got to really enjoy the finals and hopefully we will win it but we don't know what's going to happen," he added.

The final is scheduled to be played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on May 29.
