New Delhi: South Africa started the third day of the fourth Test in a perfect manner as Morne Morkel highlighted the beauty of fast bowling by being lethal and variable.
Morkel's nerves of consistency, variety and accuracy was a treat to watch after he wrecked the Indian batting order with three wickets. Morkel derived bounce, pace and swing in a chilly third day here at the Feroz Shah Kotla.

All three Morkel's dismissals proved his potency of bowling unplayable deliveries as the Indian batsmen fell to his magic.
Morkel's liking for Murali Vijay continued as the pacer got the opener once again in a beautiful manner. Morkel bowled a superb short ball to expose Vijay's discomfort as the batsman tried to dodge the ball. Dane Vilas took an excellent catch behind as an unhappy Vijay signalled the ball had brushed his arm-guard. Replays confirmed the same but Morne had his victim by then.
Next up he bowled a beautiful inswinger to an out of form Rohit Sharma who was no where with his footwork and lost his stumps.

Morkel made the day brighter for South Africa and himself after sending birthday boy Shikhar Dhawan to the pavilion with a toe crushing yorker. Dhawan was bowled and Morkel's demolition looked fiery.

Morkel's variation was the treat for many just as it was in Nagpur Test match. The bowler has stood out for South Africa in the absence of Dale Steyn and though India went on to impose a healthy score of 190/4 to take a big lead of 403 runs, Morkel had done his work to show his extraction from the pitch.
Morkel will hope to get into the act on the fourth day with the new ball and get some quick wickets in the morning session. He was the only bowler who shined for the visitors and looks dangerous on this Kotla wicket which shows us that batsmen can get runs provided they are patient and positive.
