New Delhi: India's poor outing with the bat against South African spinners continued in the ongoing Test series. The fourth Test match here at the Feroz Shah Kotla was no difference as seven Indian batsmen were dismissed on the first day.
Dane Piedt who is playing his first Test of the series, created similar impact to that of Simon Harmer who had excelled in Mohali and Nagpur. With the series already lost, South Africa wanted to try Piedt this time ahead of Harmer and the former starred for the visitors with four wickets.

Indian batsmen once again fell prey to spin at home which has been a familiar tale off late. South Africa will be happy with the way their spinners have bowled so far in the series keeping the hosts below par at their own backyard.
The 25-year-old Piedt helped his side by building on the batsmen's mistakes. Piedt bowled a staggering 34 overs in the day and was trusted by Amla to deliver the goods and he showed up. Piedt bowled consistently in the right channel and his dismissal of Shikhar Dhawan was the pick of the day.
He would have had a five-for after getting Rahane come forward to defend and got an edge only for Amla to miss a regulation catch.
Piedt, Harmer and the underutilised Imran Tahir have used the conditions well so far in the series as the Indian batsmen will need to work in their approach towards spinners especially given the home conditions.
Indian spinners have been in top form and in courtesy of that the side leads the series 2-0. But the management will hope the batsmen identify their sheen once again and come good against top quality spinners.
