Harbhajan Singh slams Indore pitch as Indian spinners continue to dominate New Zealand series

New Delhi: Former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh took a subtle dig at the Indore pitch before the match had sarted.

Bhajji, who reportedly questioned Ravichandran Ashwin's feat of becoming the fastest Indian bowler to claim 200 Test wickets - usurping the then record holder Harbhajan Singh – by questioning the nature of wickets presently being made in India.

This time, at the morning of 1st day of play of 3rd Test at Holkar stadium, Harbhajan tweeted a picture of the pitch saying, "Already looks like 2 days old pitch before the 1st bowl is bowled..my predictions match won't go more then 3 and half days.."

As Ashwin went to claim a 6-for in the first innings against New Zealand, it is to be debated whether Bhajji's tweet was rather aimed at Ashwin or not.

The Tamil Nadu born bowler is touching the legendary status in Indian cricket after he became the fourth Indian bowler to bag 20 or more instances of five-wicket hauls in Tests, joining Anil Kumble (35), Harbhajan Singh (25) and Kapil Dev (23).

He has taken his wickets' tally to 213 at an average of 24.81 -- the highest by a bowler after 39 Tests, surpassing Waqar Younis' tally of 208 (ave.20.56).
