New Zealand vs England: Seeking maiden ICC World T20 final, unbeaten Kiwis need Kane Williamson to fire in 1st semi-final

New Delhi: Despite being one of the most consistent, flamboyant batsmen in modern-day cricket, New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson is yet to fire in the ongoing ICC World Twenty20.

Williamson, under whose captaincy Kiwis have won all their four matches in the tournament so far, has looked a shadow of himself in the tournament, where he hasn't gone past the 50-plus mark even once.

Williamson's highest score so far is 42, which came against a depleted Bangladeshi bowling attack.

Williamson is compared with the likes of Virat Kohli, Joe Root and Steve Smith – three cricketers who have the potential to single-handedly pull off matches for their respective teams.

Not to forget, Black Caps are up against England, a side that stunned South Africa early in the tournament by successfully chasing a 230-run target.

Keeping that in mind, New Zealand will have to put a formidable total on board in case if they bat first.

Under Brendon McCullum's leadership, New Zealand reached the final of the ICC World Cup 2015. It remains to be seen whether Williamson can guide his team to their maiden ICC World T20 final by playing a good knock in the semi-final against England.

The first semi-final is scheduled to be played at Feroz Shah Kotla stadium in New Delhi on March 30.
