New Delhi: While the experts believe he is the right man for the job, retiring Indian seamer Zaheer Khan too has said that he is open to take the job of India's next bowling coach.
Speaking to NDTV, the 37-year-old said that he wants to remain in touch with the game in some way or the other.
When asked whether he was willing to be India's next bowling coach, Zak said, "That I was doing naturally when I was playing so why not now? I am open to things. I do want to be connected with the game in some capacity or the other."
Zaheer, who will play one more season of the Indian Premier League, said that he felt it was the right time to hang his boots.
"I just feel the time is right. And as I was preparing for the season, I realised that. It's very hard to pin point exactly how it has happened. But it did happen," he said.
When asked whether he would join politics, like some of the other former cricketers, India's fourth highest wicket-taker said that he hadn't thought about it. Zaheer also dodged questions on his marriage plans and said he wants to deal with one thing at a time.
Zaheer, who represented India in 92 Tests and 200 ODIs announced his retirement from international cricket on Thursday.
