England fast bowler Stuart Broad has been fined 30% of his match fee for telling umpire Aleem Dar to "just get on with the game" during the fourth day of the second Test against South Africa at Newlands.

New Delhi: England fast bowler Stuart Broad has been fined 30% of his match fee for telling umpire Aleem Dar to "just get on with the game" during the fourth day of the second Test against South Africa at Newlands.

Broad initially pleaded not guilty to the charge forcing match referee Ranjan Madugalle, to conduct a hearing where he found Broad guilty.

The 29-year-old has been charged with a Level 1 offence under the ICC code of conduct, which - at first offence - carry a minimum penalty of an official reprimand and a maximum penalty of 50% of match fee.

The incident reportedly happened in the 195th over of South Africa's innings after Dar had warned England captain Alastair Cook about Broad damaging the pitch when he kicked at it in frustration following a Temba Bavuma dropped catch by Jonny Bairstow.

The match, which witnessed both the sides scoring in excess of 600 runs in their respective first innings, ended with as a draw. England were on 159 for six when play was called off for bad light 15 minutes after tea and abandoned 45 minutes later.
