New Delhi: Days after opening up about his mental issues, Monty Panesar is likely to receive funding from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in his bid to make a return to cricket.
A report in Daily Mail claimed that the ECB could help fund the process to resurrect the playing career of one of England's most talented spinners.
The 33-year-old spinner is likely to return to Northamptonshire, his first county, in a move that could be partially financed by the ECB.
Panesar recently revealed that he was gripped by an intense paranoia that led to the collapse of his career. His behavioral issues cost him his contract with Essex and also seemingly ended his Test career.
The report also claimed that two other counties have shown interest in hiring Panesar, who has taken 167 wickets in his 50 Tests and would.
