New Delhi: The Pakistan cricket team registered a memorable win at Lord's in the 1st Test against England.
To mark this win, Pakistan Cricket Board chief Shaharyar Khan hosted a reception for the players and their wives.
According to a report in The Nation, the PCB chief gifted 'hijabs' to England and Wales Cricket Board's female staff in a bid to built better ties between the two boards.
“The PCB chairman was very glad with the hospitality and good behaviour of the ECB staff and the way they have been taking care of Pakistani VIPs and national team players. He is doing this to further strengthen the relationships between the two boards and it is also expected that the PCB chief may invite the ECB officials to Pakistan,” a source told The Nation.
On Wednesday however, Saj Sadiq, chief editor of a very popular Pakistani cricket website, took to social micro-blogging site Twitter to clarify on the matter. According to Sadiq, Khan's wife gave shawls and not hijabs to the female staff at the ECB.
