New Delhi: In a rather unfortunate incident, Suhrawadi Shuvo was hospitalized after being hit by a Taskin Ahmed bouncer in the Dhaka Premier League.

The incident occurred in Mirpur during Victoria Sporting Club's match against Abahani Limited.

According to a report on ESPNCricinfo, allrounder was struck on the lower right side of his neck while trying to evade a bouncer the Bangladeshi international.

Shuvo, now in a stable condition, will undergo MRI scan at  Apollo hospital, confirmed BCB physician Dr Debashish Chowdhury.

"He is stable now, but as with any head injuries, they will observe him for at least 24 hours. Once we know his scan results, we will be able to understand his condition better. It would have helped if he was wearing the helmet with new safety regulations, but he wasn't," he told the cricket website.

Batting on 21, Shuvo was hit in the 25th over. Abahani players rushed to see him as soon as he fell on the ground with the impact.

"We make four instant tests in such a situation. He passed three of those, but he didn't respond when we put light on his eyes. This is of some concern," Chowdhury further added.
