New Delhi: Mumbai school cricketer Pranav Dhanawade, who has won thousands of hearts with his blistering 1009-run knock, has revealed that West Indies' cricketer Chris Gayle gives him the motivation to hit big sixes.
Speaking to CNN IBN, Dhanawade, who remained 1009 not out when his team finally declaring on 1465, said that he gets inspiration to bat well from Sachin Tendulkar, while the swashbuckling left-hander is his role model when it comes to smashing the ball behind the ropes.
Son of an auto-rickshaw driver, Pranav's innings comprised of 59 sixes (354 runs) and 129 fours (516 runs). In total, he amassed 870 runs from sixes and boundaries.
The 15-year-old played the astonishing innings in Bhandari Trophy, an Under-16 inter-school tournament, at Union Cricket Academy ground in Kalyan.
Dhanawade was unbeaten on 1009* when his team finally declared on 1465.
