New Delhi: Swashbuckling West Indies batsman Chris Gayle who is facing the heat for his improper comments to a lady reporter Mel McLaughlin from Channel 10, had last year exposed himself during the ICC World Cup 2015 at Sydney, as per a media report.

The Australian woman, who was working with the West Indies team during the ICC's flagship event in Sydney, revealed the incident to Fairfax Media.

In the course of her work she entered the team dressing room to get a sandwich, thinking the players were on the field for training.

However, she found Gayle in the room with one more player. Gayle was wrapped in a towel, which she says he pulled down to partially expose his genitals to her while saying to her: “Are you looking for this?”

After the incident, the West Indies team manager, Richie Richardson did not mention Gayle’s name but sent out a mail to the team to respect women cricket players.

The female employee does not want to be identified, but revealed that she was motivated to tell her story after the incident with McLaughlin last night during a Big Bash League (BBL) match, when the West Indian asked an uncomfortable reporter if she wanted to come out for a drink with him, before quickly adding “don’t blush, baby”.

“It’s that moment when you have a split second to react. I was shocked, and I just walked out. You put yourself in an office environment in Australia, and there’s no way that’s going to fly. Put yourself back in that deserted change room and it’s somehow ok for a career professional to be subjected to sexual jokes and demeaning advances.” said the lady who struggled last year due to Gayle's inappropriate action.
