Cheteshwar Pujara named brand ambassador of Rajkot half marathon

Rajkot: India cricketer and local boy Cheteshwar Pujara was today appointed as the brand ambassador of half marathon to be organised here on January 24.
The marathon is jointly organised by the Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) and the city police.
RMC Commissioner Vijay Nehra said the right-handed batsman has been appointed as the brand ambassador for the marathon.
"Pujara has done well at international level representing India and he would be the decisive face of the event to encourage participants," he said.
An elated Pujara said, "It is a very proud moment for me that I have been appointed as the brand ambassador for the event.
"I am going to take part in the event organised jointly by the RMC and city police for the development of Rajkot and to create awareness among the citizens of Rajkot towards traffic sense and cleanliness," the Saurashtra batsman said.
"As per BCCI scheduled I am free on Jan uary 24 and therefore I would take part in the event. I would try my level best to bring awareness about traffic and cleanliness among the people."
Pujara also urged citizens to take part in the marathon in maximum numbers.
City police Commissioner Mohan Jha said police have made arrangements for practice at it's headquarter.
Around 30,000 to 40,000 people are expected to take part in the event, he added.
