'Bit of truth' in retirement rumours, says uncertain South African captain AB de Villiers

New Delhi: Days after taking over the Test captaincy reigns, AB de Villiers said that he is "not sure" if he wants to remain in charge beyond on-going the series against England, and there was 'bit of truth' in his retirement rumours.

The 31-year-old batsman replaced Hashim Amla as the captain of South African Test team following the drawn second Test of the series in Cape Town.

"My focus is on international cricket and I want to play for as long as possible...I'm still very committed. To the job? I'm not sure. The two Test matches for now is all I'm focusing on," de Villiers was qouted as saying by BBC.

The 31-year-old also said that there's a bit of truth in the recent rumours, which claimed that de Villiers will retire from Test cricket after the England series.

"There have been a few rumours floating around and in most rumours there is always a little bit of truth... I've found myself on the pitch in the past few years, every now and then, not enjoying myself as much as I should be," he said.

"Lots of things can happen before then and I don't want to commit myself to too much," he added.

The third Test in Johannesburg begins on Thursday, with England leading 1-0 in the four-match series.
