New Delhi: Australia's Adam Voges on Sunday became only the third batsman in cricket history to score 1000 Test runs in his debut year.
The 36-year-old got to the landmark during his knock of 106* on Day 2 of the second Test against the West Indies.
The two batsmen to have achieved this feat before the right-hander were Mark Taylor (1219 runs in 1989) and Alastair Cook (1013 in 2006).
Like former Australia skipper Taylor, Voges too broke the reached 100 Test runs in his 18th innings. Cook on the other hand took 24 innings to get there.
