New Delhi: The opening match of the Asia Cup 2016 between Bangladesh and favourites India turned out to be a one-sided match, even after a promising start from the home side.
And today's match has also the makings of yet another lopsided encounter between defending champions Sri Lanka -- albeit in a different format, and qualifier United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Nonetheless, here are five players to watch out for:
Lasith Malinga - He is back. The perfect setting for the returning skipper to get back in the groove before the big matches against India and Sri Lanka. His four over's will be as lethal as any associate team can hope for in cricket.
Dinesh Chandimal - The wicketkepper-batmsan was in his elements in their recent series against India. The stand-in skipper led by example, and is expected to play freely with the return of Malinga.
Dasun Shanaka - The 24-year-old was probably the find of Sri Lanka's India tour. The pace-bowling all-rounder can be an investment for the future. With a brilliant learning curb, and opportunities, he will be one future star.
Shaiman Anwar Butt - As usual, UAE will need their star batsman to to click, if not fire. The veteran of 29 Twenty20 matches, his role in the middle overs will be even more crucial considering the fragile batting line-up they have, and also Sri Lanka's strong bowling attack.
Amjad Javed - The skipper, along with Butt and Khurran Khan will be responsible for the well-being of their campaign. If the 35-year-old manages to get the best out of himself, the team will most likely perform and earn respect from their opponents.
