New Delhi: Shikhar Dhawan scored a sublime 60 runs as India outsmarted Bangladesh to script a famous victory in a rain-hit match and clinch the 2016 Asia Cup Twenty20 trophy at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka on Sunday.
The left-handed batsman, who had struggled earlier in the Asia Cup, acknowledged his knock in the final and said it feels good to perform at the right time.
"It is a very special knock. We won the tournament and it feels god to perform at the right time," said Dhawan.
He added 94 runs for the second wicket alongside Virat Kohli as India chased a 121-run target in a rain-hit match.
Dhawan added that they were under control.
"We did not feel the pressure. We were under control. As an opener, I like to get quick runs," added Dhawan.
He was adjudged the man-of-the-match award.
