Wondering about how to console your friend after a break-up? Here are some suggestions:

1. Don't talk about her/his ex right away

Even though talking about what went wrong seems to be the first thing that you'll do, it would be better if you refrain from this habit. Talking about your friend's relationship will only trigger memories of his/her ex and will cause greater emotional damage. Do your best in keeping your friend distracted. When he/she is in a better position simply ask what went wrong and offer a solution.

2. Gift her/him a pet!

Now that your friend is single and has all the time in the world to devote to a pet, do him/her a favour and gift one! She/He will thank you for all their might.

3. Take him/her out on a trip

Take your heartbroken friend out on a trip and help him/her find happiness in the smallest things life has to offer. If you have other close friends who know about the break-up, invite them too and the fun would increase!

4. Pamper him/her

Now that the boyfriend/girlfriend is out of the picture, someone has to take care of your friend's pampering needs! Get her/him a gift that would put up an instant smile on their face. Remind your friend that one doesn't need a relationship to find happiness.

5. Give them the gift of Meditation

Get your friend meditating, at least 10-15 minutes a day. It will soothe their mind and will help them move on much faster! Meditation is one of the best ways to get over a person and get hold of your mind and feelings.
