Manipur Violence: Indian Railways Halts All Trains From Entering State
All the Manipur-bound trains by the North East Frontier Railway have been stopped until the deteriorating situation of violence in the state improves.

Indian Railways' North East Frontier arm has cancelled all Manipur-bound trains considering the law and order situation in the Northeastern state. As per ANI's report, the movement of train in the state will remain suspended until the situation is improved. The move from the NF Railway comes following the advice from the government to cancel all trains heading to Manipur.
Sabyasachi De, CPRO of NF Railway, said in a statement, " No trains are entering Manipur till the situation is improved. The decision has been taken after the Manipur government advised to stop train movement."
Indian Railways further added that, that 4 trains have been cancelled, and initially the decision has been take for 5 and 6 May.
Earlier, the Manipur government also announced the suspension of the internet in the state as a preventative measure. Furthermore, the government issued "shoot at sight" order to control the violence spreading in state. Currently, the government has deployed the Army to put a curb on the violence between tribals and Meitei community in Manipur.
Earlier today, amid clashes, the Indian Army declared that the situation in the Moreh and Kangpokpi districts had been stabilised and brought under control. The Indian Army added that every effort is being made to get things back to normal in the Churachandpur and Imphal areas. Officials from the Indian Army reported that the cautious build-up of extra troops in Manipur had continued.
