Indian Railways Update: Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) has decided that Zonal Railways should modify the nomenclature of Enquiry (cum Information) booth/counter to 'SAHYOG' and necessary instructions to be issued to all concerned accordingly. Indian Railways has been an important mode of transportation since the time immemorial. Railway authorities leave no stone unturned when it comes to giving passengers comfort and convenience during the train journey.

Recently, Railway authorities revealed that it will resume 500 train services with 100 Mail express trains, taking the total number of operational trains to 1770. Further, to make travel more comfortable and convenient, Indian Railways will soon start its third and fourth Vande Bharat Express train services by Diwali this year.

Lakhs of passengers travel via Shatabdi, Jan Shatabdi, and Intercity trains daily. Keeping in mind the convenience of these passengers, the Indian Railways is preparing to replace all three trains with Vande Bharat Express.

The Vande Bharat express trains, also called Train 18 will get 'First-in-India' 180 degree rotating seats made by Tata Steel. Tata Steel's Composites division bagged a Rs 145 crore bulk order for seating systems of the Vande Bharat express that includes the supply of complete seating systems for 22 train sets, with 16 coaches in each train set. This will be the first time India-made seats will be installed in semi-high speed trains.

To make PM Narendra Modi’s dream of running 75 Vande Bharat trains in 75 weeks, the ICF is trying to accelerate the monthly manufacturing capacity of Vande Bharat trains. The train is being built at Integral Coach Factory (ICF) Chennai and the trial may begin in mid-August in the Kota Nagda section. The train will run at a speed of 180 km and after the success of 2-3 trials, the Vande Bharat train will get approval for commercial operations.
