USA Defeats Pakistan: Check Top 7 Biggest Upsets in T20 World Cup History

The USA pulled off one of the biggest upsets in T20 World Cup history against Pakistan. The USA beat Pakistan in the super over by 5 runs. Left-arm pacer Saurabh Netravalkar and captain Monank Patel were the heroes of this historic win.

A shocking defeat against Netherlands ended South Africa's T20 World Cup campaign in 2022. Ned beat SA by 13 runs that allowed Pakistan to qualify for the semi finals. 

Namibia stunned Sri Lanka in the first game of T20 WC 2022, Namibia defeated the 2014 winners, Sri Lanka, by 55 runs. Sri Lanka couldn't chase the target of 164 runs and were all out for 108 runs in 19 overs.

West Indies won the 2016 T20 WC. They were beaten only once in the tournament and that too by Afghanistan. They defended a modest total of 123 against the mighty batting lineup of West Indies.  

The West Indies have been a top T20 side with some of the biggest hitters in the world. However, Bangladesh stunned them in the 2007 T20 World Cup by chasing down the target of 165 runs with 5 wickets and 12 balls to spare.

The 2009 T20 World Cup took place in England. In the opening match, the Netherlands shocked England by winning by four wickets at Lord's. Netherlands restricted England to 162 runs and then chased it down on the final ball. 

Zimbabwe beat the mighty Australians in 2007 T20 WC. Zim restricted the Aussies to 138 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs and then achieved the target in 19.5 overs for the loss of five wickets.
