Ruturaj Gaikwad had a remarkable IPL season, ending as the Chennai Super Kings' second-highest run-scorer with a total of 590 runs. This achievement adds to his consistent performances in the IPL, including winning the Orange Cap in 2021 with 635 runs.  

Gaikwad was initially added to India's squad as a reserve player for the World Test Championship final. His selection was a recognition of his strong domestic and IPL performances. However, he had to withdraw from the squad due to his upcoming wedding.  

Ruturaj Gaikwad's fiancee, Utkarsha Pawar, is also a cricketer who has represented Maharashtra in domestic matches. She is an all-rounder, skilled as a right-handed batter and a pacer. Although she hasn't played a game in nearly 18 months, her cricketing background adds an interesting dynamic to their relationship.  

Ruturaj Gaikwad and Utkarsha Pawar are set to tie the knot on June 3. The wedding preparations have led to Gaikwad pulling out of the World Test Championship final, prioritizing this significant personal event.  

In Gaikwad's absence, Yashasvi Jaiswal was selected as a late replacement and standby player for the World Test Championship final. Jaiswal's exceptional performances in the IPL played a crucial role in earning him this opportunity to represent India in the prestigious tournament.
