Not only Dhoni, Virat Kohli, and Rohit, there are many others as well, who are playing IPL from the first season. Here, we take a look at the list of players who played in IPL 2008 and will be part of the world's biggest cricket league in the 2025 season as well:
MS Dhoni
Former India skipper MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings to the final during the inaugural season of IPL in 2028. Later, CSK won five IPL titles under Dhoni's captaincy. The 43-year-old will represent CSK during the IPL 2025 season and would look to end his career on a high.
Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli has been part of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) since the 2008 edition of IPL. The 36-year-old Kohli will continue to be part of RCB during the upcoming IPL 2025 season.
Rohit Sharma
Rohit Sharma was part of the Deccan Chargers (now defunct) franchise during IPL 2008 season. Later, Rohit led Mumbai Indians to five IPL titles under his captaincy. The current India skipper will play for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025 under Hardik Pandya's captaincy.
Ravindra Jadeja
Star India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, was part of Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2008 and helped them to title victory and got the nickname "Rockstar" by his captain Shane Warne. Jadeja will represent five-time champions Chennai Super Kings during the upcoming IPL 2025 season.
Manish Pandey
Manish Pandey played for Mumbai Indians during the inaugural season of IPL in 2028. Pandey, who was the first Indian cricketer to score a century in the Indian Premier League (IPL), will be part of KKR set-up during the 2025 season.
Ishant Sharma
Ishant Sharma played the inaugural season of IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders. The 36-year-old Indian pacer, who was with Delhi Capitals last season, will represent Gujarat Titans during the IPL 2025.
Ajinkya Rahane
Ajinkya Rahane is one of the most experienced players in the IPL. The right-hander batter made his IPL debut with Mumbai Indians in IPL 2008. During the upcoming IPL 2025, Rahane will play for three-times champion KKR.
