IPL 2024: MS Dhoni To Dinesh Karthik; 5 Cricketers Likely To Retire This Year; In Pics

The RCB wicketkeeper and batter is one of the best T20 batters in India. But Karthik is 28 and if he does not have a good season, he may want to focus full time on commentating on the game.

The leg-spinner is an IPL legend and is 41 years old. The leggie has many IPL accolades to his name. But as he is ageing, many franchises may lose interest in him soon. At 41, Mishra is not the fittest cricketer on the field and LSG too does not play him in every IPL game.

Piyush is 35 years old and is likely to call time on his IPL career. It is the only tournament he plays as he has taken a liking to the commentary, a job he is very good at.

He is fit but Faf du Plessis is 39 years old. The Royal Challengers Bangalore captain will be 40 this year in July. He may take a call on his IPL career this year. 

MS Dhoni is 42 years old and will turn 43 this year. He is still going strong in IPL and is set to captain Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for one more year. Last season, Dhoni won CSK their fifth title and the Captain Cool, it seems, wants to sign off with sixth one.

Dhoni's body is not fully supporting him and it will be difficult to carry on for more season after IPL 2024 for the ageing body even if it is Dhoni's ageing body.
