India Vs England 1st Test: English Batters' Spin Headache In India; Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Jonny Bairstow Struggle Vs R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Check Records

England are in India and it will take some doing for the visitors to register their first series win on Indian soil in more than ten years. The last time India won a series here was on 2012-13 tour. This squad is led by Ben Stokes and they are known for playing 'Bazball' cricket. One of the biggest talking points for this series is how England are going to play spin and whether attacking the spinners can jail the English batters out of the hole.

India have four quality spinners in their ranks in form of R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav. There could be a case of all four playing in a same match as India will not want the England batters to dominate in their own conditions and there is no harm in it  as all home sides look to take advantage of their conditions.

Below, take a look at how some of the top England batters in the current squad have done in India vs spin.

The England captain has played 9 Tests in India, scoring 392 runs at an average of 24.50. He has been out 16 times to spin, the most for any England batter in India. Stokes struggles vs slow bowlers and India will use this weakness of his to their advantage. (Image: ANI)
