November 22, 2019 - It has been more than three years since Virat Kohli scored his last Test century. After scoring ending his hundred drought in international cricket by scoring a maiden ton in T20I and another hundred in the ODI series against Bangladesh, many cricket experts were expecting him to score big in the Test series, however, Virat could not even score a fifty in this series.

Virat Kohli's average dropped below 30 in three years prior to that he was averaging 40+ in eight consecutive years between 2012 and 2019.

 

Ten innings since Kohli last scored a fifty in Tests, equals his worst such run in the format. Earlier it happend in England in 2014 when his highest score was 39 in 10 innings. 

 

India has played against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, England and South Africa in the recent past and looking at the kind of experience Virat holds one would think that he will score a fifty against at least one of the teams, however, Virat's highest score in last 10 innings is just 45 with 186 runs in it.
